CCHS Selected For Grant
The Chautauqua County Historical Society has been selected to work with the Museum Association of New York (MANY) to develop a program that will reach folks who cannot physically visit McClurg Museum.
MANY was awarded an IMLS CARES Act Grant in September 2020 for Building Capacity, Creating Sustainability, Growing Accessibility, a program that is helping 98 museums and 203 museum professionals develop virtual programs to engage their communities and reach new audiences.
Grant funds will provide museums with hardware, software, and staff with customized training. Over the course of two years, these museums will develop and virtually deliver programs that tell stories revealing the cultural and racial diversity of New York state. CCHS is honored to be a participant.
The development of the Grange in Chautauqua County and its popularity in the early 19th century are the focus of CCHS’s virtual program.
